Andreas Krümmel to be new CEO of Generali Group Switzerland

  • Andreas Krümmel will assume the role of CEO of Generali Group Switzerland on 1 May 2016.
  • He was previously Head Property & Casualty and member of the management team at AXA-Winterthur. He has many years of management experience in the insurance industry.
  • The new CEO will continue unabated the ongoing strategic development of Generali Group Switzerland in close cooperation with the Generali Group.

Andreas Krümmel has worked in the insurance industry since 1987. He was Head of Business Engineering and Chief Operating Officer at the former Winterthur Group, now AXA-Winterthur, before taking over the Property & Casualty insurance business in Switzerland. He headed up various integration and development projects, such as Operational Excellence, digitalization of the business model and modernization of the Property & Casualty insurance product family. From 2006 he was a member of the AXA-Winterthur management team.

Andreas Krümmel is 47 and lives in Winterberg/Zurich with his wife and their three children. He will take up his post on 1 May 2016, replacing Alfred Leu, who has been managing Generali Austria since 1 January 2016.
