Changes in the Board of Directors of Generali Switzerland: DACH CEO Giovanni Liverani becomes the new Chair of the Board of Directors, Martha Boeckenfeld to become an independent member of the Board of Directors

Adliswil – Giovanni Liverani, CEO Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH), is the new Chair of the Board of Directors of Generali (Switzerland) Holding Ltd., Generali Personal Insurance Ltd. and Generali General Insurance Ltd.

His appointment is linked to the creation of the new Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH) business unit. With a premium volume of EUR 19.4 billion and an operating result of EUR 1.26 billion, it is the second-largest business unit within the Generali Group and the second-largest primary insurer in the DACH region.

 

The Board of Directors has also appointed – subject to approval by the general meetings of 29 December 2022 and the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA – Martha Boeckenfeld as an independent member of the Board of Directors of Generali Personal Insurance Ltd. and Generali General Insurance Ltd. with effect from 1 January 2023. She will succeed Carola Wahl.

 

Martha Boeckenfeld has been a member of the Board of Directors of Generali Investments Switzerland Ltd. since the end of October 2022. She is a financial services professional with more than 20 years of experience in platform economics, dynamic ecosystems, digital business and digital transformation. As a thought leader, strategist and consultant for the metaverse and Web3, and Dean & Partner of the Metaverse Academy, she supports individuals and companies in using this innovation for themselves and their stakeholders. From 2016 to 2019, she was a member of the Board of Directors of several Generali Switzerland companies.

 

As an additional independent member of the Board of Directors, Thomas Gutzwiller will now also take on the role of Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee of Generali Personal Insurance Ltd. and Generali General Insurance Ltd.

 

Francesco Ranut, Chief Insurance Transformation Officer Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH), will now also become a member of the Audit & Risk Committee.

 

As of 1 January 2023, the Board of Directors of Generali Personal Insurance Ltd. and Generali General Insurance Ltd. will comprise the following members: Giovanni Liverani (Chair), Heike Ottemann-Toyza (Vice-Chair), Francesco Ranut, Thomas A. Gutzwiller and Martha Boeckenfeld.
