Christoph Schmallenbach
Chief Executive Officer, since 2022
Christoph Schmallenbach took over as CEO of Generali Switzerland in February 2022. He has held a number of different roles within the Generali Group for around 30 years. After launching his career in an IT role followed by a number of years as COO of AachenMünchener, between 2017 and the end of 2021 he was Chief Business Officer Exclusive Sales for Generali Germany, with a seat on the Board. Born in 1962, Christoph Schmallenbach lives with his family in Aachen, Germany.

Chief Non-Life Officer, since 2017
Christian Conti took over the management of the Non-Life division on 1 March 2017. He has been working in insurance since 2003 and, prior to joining Generali, was CEO of Orion Legal Protection Insurance (a subsidiary of Zurich Insurance and Vaudoise Insurance). He trained as a lawyer, did his PhD in medical law and rounded out his business acumen with an executive MBA from the IMD in Lausanne. Christian Conti was born in 1970 and lives in Zurich.

Mike Fuhrmann
Mike Fuhrmann took over as Chief Marketing Officer on 20 August 2018. He has more than 15 years of marketing and branding experience, and can look back on a career including leading positions on both the agency and industry sides. He has created innovative brand experiences for global players such as Bayer, DHL, ING, NN Life and Zurich. From 2014 onwards, Mike Fuhrmann was Chief Creative Officer for Hocoma, a Swiss medical device company and world leader in robotic rehabilitation, where he was in charge of marketing, communication and product management. Following the successful merger with DIH International in 2016, he also took over, as Global Vice President Marketing, the marketing management of the Group's rehab division (Beijing) and of that of its research partner Motek (Amsterdam). He was born in 1976 and lives with his family in Horgen.

Philipp Keller has been in charge of the Risk Management Department at Generali Switzerland since May 2021. He has many years of experience in risk management, including at consultancy companies Deloitte and the Boston Consulting Group and as Chief Operating Officer at asset manager Quantica Capital. At the Federal Office of Private Insurance (FOPI, now FINMA), he played a role in the development and implementation of the Swiss Solvency Test (SST). Mr Keller studied mathematics at ETH Zurich and obtained a doctorate in dynamical systems and numerical analysis. He is member of the Board of the Swiss Association of Actuaries (SAA). Philipp Keller was born in 1965 and lives in Ermatingen (Thurgau).

Alessio Sarti has been the Chief Financial Officer of Generali Switzerland since 2011. He has been with the Generali Group since 1997, initially in Group Accounting and Group Strategic Planning at the parent company in Trieste and since 2007 at Generali Switzerland as its Head of Enterprise Risk Management. Born in 1968, Alessio Sarti lives with his family in Zurich.

Jean-Pierre Schmid has worked for Generali since 1995 and has been its Chief Customer Services & Human Resources Officer since January 2012. He had previously been a manager in a variety of strategic roles. Jean-Pierre Schmid was born in 1963 and lives in Zurich with his wife and three daughters.

Alexander Lacher took over as General Counsel on 1 April 2018. He has almost 20 years’ experience in key legal positions in the field of insurance. These include Head of the Insurance Law Department at EY (Switzerland). He holds a doctorate in law (Dr. iur.) and received an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. In addition to publishing and speaking regularly on the topic of insurance law, he is also a lecturer at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). In 2020, the Legalcommunity.ch network of legal professionals named him In-House Counsel of the Year in the Insurance category. Alexander Lacher was born in 1976 and lives with his family in the Canton of Schwyz.

Ralph Schmid
Ralph Schmid has been in charge of the Life & Pension business at Generali Switzerland since January 2020. He has many years of international experience in the field of savings and pensions. Ralph has spent over 12 years working in various positions at Generali Switzerland and was previously Group Head of Unit Linked Savings & Pensions at Generali Group. Born in 1977, he lives with his wife and two daughters in Lachen.

Sepp Ruchti
Sepp Ruchti took over as Chief Distribution Officer on 1 March 2020. Before joining Generali Switzerland in December 2017 as head of Distribution Partner Management, he held various leadership roles for Zurich Insurance and Swiss Life in broker and agent distribution as well as business transformation in Switzerland, France and the US. He holds a Master of Science from the University of Zurich and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Sepp Ruchti was born in 1972 and lives with his family in Zurich.

Andreas Schlögl
Chief Transformation Officer since 2021
Andreas Schlögl has been Chief Transformation Officer of Generali Switzerland since 1 May 2021. He has more than 18 years of experience in the insurance industry. Mr Schlögl advised countless local and global insurance companies at consultancy company Ernst & Young, particularly in organisation, processes and risk management. From 2014 to 2021, he held various risk management roles within the Generali Group, most recently as Chief Risk Officer for International and Global Business Lines. Mr Schlögl studied business mathematics at the University of Augsburg. He is a member of the German Association of Actuaries (DAV) and a Certified Enterprise Risk Actuary (CERA). Andreas Schlögl was born in 1977, is married with three daughters and lives in Adliswil and Friedberg, Germany.

Marco Boni
Chief Operation Officer since 2021
Marco Boni has been Chief Operation Officer a.i. of Generali Switzerland since May 2021. He has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Mr Boni has profound expertise in digitalization, transformation and defining the operational transformation. From 2014 to 2021, he held various operational and transformational roles within the Generali Group, most recently as Head of Operations and IT of Generali International. He holds a master’s degree in business administration and a degree in engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan. He was born in 1971, is married and father of two children. He lives in Milan, Italy.
