The first ever family afternoon will be held as part of this year’s Swiss Music Awards (SMA) in Zug on 25 May 2022, with all kinds of attractions, food trucks and activities for young and old alike. We are using this opportunity to officially hand the baton of the “Lion Kids” mentorship role to Stefanie Heinzmann. Luca Hänni will also give a concert for visitors to the family afternoon and share the stage with participants of last year’s music promotion programme while performing “There for you”, the song they wrote together, with them.

Lion Kids is a music promotion programme run by Generali Switzerland and the Swiss Music Awards, giving children the opportunity to develop their musical talents in a zero-pressure environment. As part of this programme, a total of 150 girls and boys aged six to twelve unleashed their musical creativity in workshops across Switzerland last year. They rehearsed a song while working with their mentor Luca Hänni. The piece that his Bern-based singer/songwriter will perform with “his” kids on the family afternoon’s open-air stage is called “There for you” – the crowning achievement of Hänni’s impactful year as a mentor, as this afternoon will see him officially hand over his mentorship role. The new mentor for Lion Kids is none other than Stefanie Heinzmann, a Valais-born musician who will join music-loving kids on their creative journey this year.
