By children for children.

Lion Kids by Generali

The Lion Kids music promotion program was conceived and launched by Generali Switzerland. It gives children between the ages of 6 and 12 access to music in an informal setting.

The programme

We offer one-day music workshops in various cities in which children between the ages of 6 and 12 can experiment with music and music making.

During the workshops, the Lion Kids learn a song together with their mentor that the artist has written and produced especially for the programme. Alle Erlöse kommen einem guten Zweck zugute.

All of the proceeds go to our foundation The Human Safety Net Switzerland. This foundation supports family centres throughout Switzerland.

Music workshop structure

Theoretical part

In the mornings, the children are split into groups and introduced to the topics of “band”, “songwriting” and “rhythm” in rotating sub-workshops.

During the band and rhythm workshops, the children are invited to find the instrument they love using most.

In the songwriting workshop, the children write their first lyrics.

This does not involve note reading, but focussing on direct contact with sound, rhythm and melody.

We want the children’s curiosity and playfulness to bring them closer to music.

Practical part

The afternoons are all about making music together. The children practise the new Lion Kids song with the guest artist.

The workshops are open to all children between the ages of 6 and 12, subject to their parents’ consent.

The workshops are limited to 30 children each, with a maximum of two children from the same household.

Cooperation Partner

Gustav Akademie

The is a non-profit association and an after-school musical and multilingual project aimed at the promotion of talented young musicians. It was founded by Fribourg musician Gustav. Team members from the Gustav Akademie will be overseeing the educational part of the project.

The Human Safety Net

The Human Safety Net Switzerland foundation supports projects in Switzerland that benefit children aged 0 to 6 years and their parents in fragile family situations. The organisation uses the proceeds to support parents in laying strong foundations for their children’s future despite their difficult circumstances.
