We train as a group just for fun or as the first step towards becoming a pro.

Running groups

There are three running groups: One meets in Geneva, one in Zurich and the other trains in Lucerne. They are both open to anyone who would like to join. This is because we would like to inspire as many people as possible to start running. At the same time, we also offer coaching and other comprehensive support for runners aspiring to a professional career in running. 

Running gives me an incredible amount of energy. I love it! After training with the running group, I always feel full of energy and proud of myself.

Our training sessions

Training sessions last about one hour. Participants are divided into two ability groups.

Wednesdays
Time: 6:15 pm
Meeting place: Bout-du-Monde sports centre in Geneva (on the left by the stand, in front of the fitness park)

Thursdays
Time: 6:00 pm
Meeting place: Allmend athletics stadium (Google Maps)

Our coaches

Our coaches offer advice and support to help runners achieve their goals. They also put together a tailored running programme and track performance during and outside the training sessions.

All of the Geneva training sessions are led by Tadesse Abraham’s personal trainer and 800-metre vice-world champion at the World Masters in 2015. Olivier Baldacchino has worked as a sports coach for over 20 years.

Claudie Bell co-leads the Generali Running Family in Lucerne alongside Martin Jonen. She coaches in nutrition and wellness as well as productivity and business, bringing a holistic perspective to performance and health. Having guided leaders, professionals, and everyday athletes through challenges of focus, stress, and endurance, she knows how powerful running can be in building resilience and sustainable wellbeing. Claudie’s mission is to help others experience running not just as training, but as a practice of fitness, community, and fun that lasts far beyond the finish line.

Martin Jonen leads the Generali Running Family in Lucerne together with Claudie Bell. As a passionate runner with many years of training experience, he has completed multiple marathons in under three hours - knowing first-hand what it takes to perform at a high level while staying healthy and relaxed over the long term. With this background, Martin brings not only proven training knowledge but also the mindset and strategies that help runners balance performance with well-being. His mission is to guide others to achieve their goals sustainably, so running remains a source of energy, joy, and resilience - today and in the years to come.
