Apprentices just make coffee all day. Not at Generali. As an apprentice, you are a full member of the team from day one. You are involved in exciting projects and encouraged to contribute your own ideas.
About to finish secondary school? Maybe grammar school wasn't for you and you are looking for hands-on experience in a company? Finished one apprenticeship and now thinking about a different direction? No matter where you come from, we have the same aim: we want to re-imagine insurance with you. An apprenticeship at Generali can do just that.

Key information at a glance
Generali offers these learning opportunities
Training as a commercial employee
Are you a people person? Do you have an interest in business matters? Are you a team player, motivated and inquisitive? Can you always see the big picture? Then basic commercial training could be just the thing for you. At Generali you dive deep into the world of insurance, and whole new horizons are opened up to you. Commercial training at Generali is the ideal springboard for your career.
Sports training
(only possible in the canton of Zurich)
Is sport your life? But do you also want to get some education under your belt? We can make both happen: combine basic commercial training with your love for sport. The programme is structured in such a way that alongside school you have enough time for your training.
We offer a two-year internship in conjunction with the Sport Academy Zurich (SAZ). You can find further information on combining professional and sports training at www.sport-academy.ch.
International commercial apprenticeship
International work at a young age? We will make this dream come true for you. Combine basic commercial training with a year abroad to gain international experience early on.
Application developer (IT apprenticeship)
(only possible in the canton of Zurich)
IT in an insurance company is boring? Not at Generali. You attend a first-class training programme and benefit from our extensive experience in training IT apprentices. IT training specialising in application development.
An exciting apprenticeship? We can assure you of that. Because the best insurance for life is a good education. As an apprentice, you’ll be given all-round support right from the start. So you will soon be able to work independently. Because you know that someone is always there for you. But we offer you even more than that:
- Support and mentoring from experienced trainers and colleagues
- Attractive employment conditions and a wide range of benefits
- Flat management structure, clear-cut working practices
- Scope for staying with the company after your apprenticeship and continuing your professional development
One example of how our apprentices can contribute their ideas is the 'Next Generali' video project. In this project, apprentices explore important questions from the world of pensions and answer them in three videos.
We give you a comprehensive learning and training experience thanks to our longstanding professional and practical trainers. We’ll show you the human side of insurance. Training is not limited to just the agencies. As an apprentice, you gain experience in various departments and areas. We will motivate you and challenge you thanks to the relaxed atmosphere and uncomplicated collaboration in our firm. And we offer you much more besides:
- You’ll be working for an international company
- You’ll get a fair salary
- You’ll have six weeks' annual leave
- We’ll cover all your college costs
- We’ll share the cost of your travel ticket
- We’ll pay for language courses and exams
- You’ll receive performance-related bonuses based on your grades at college and in the workplace
Quite simply because you bring the following:
- You’re outgoing, motivated and independent
- You enjoy working in an innovative environment and learning about new working methods
- You are willing to rethink traditional structures
- You have plenty of ideas and have the confidence to speak up
- You are motivated and enthusiastic about learning
- Average grade of at least 4.5 in mathematics and languages (G/E/F)
- You have completed secondary school exams A/B or the equivalent in another canton
Do you fit the bill? Great! Depending on your personal interests, we can offer two different apprenticeships: commercial or IT. Find out more about each apprenticeship:
