Employees who are heading towards burnout have no perception of their own situation and vulnerability. By measuring heart rate variability (HRV), it is possible to objectively determine the status of one’s personal stress levels: a large degree of variability means that the organism is highly adaptable, while a rigid beat sequence means reduced adaptability. Based on the results, concrete measures for stress management are implemented in the form of a course or personal coaching. A follow-up review approximately 6 months later ensures that the employee is on the right track after implementing the measures.
Content:
The individual’s heart activity is recorded over a 48-hour period and the autonomic nervous system’s regulation capacity is measured.
Procedure:
1st measurement: Participants will each receive a recording device (a mini-ECG device the size of a matchbox) with instructions on how to use it. The device is worn for 48 hours over two typical working days to reflect the individual stress level.
- Evaluation & reporting: The data from the returned recording devices are downloaded and evaluated. Participants are given a brief report with the results.
- Developing measures: “Personal stress management” course or individual coaching.
2nd measurement: Follow-up after approx. 6 months [recommended].
