«We pay fair»: seal of approval for wage equality

Dec 2, 2019.

Generali Switzerland receives the «We pay fair» seal of approval from the University of St. Gallen. This shows that salaries adhere to the principle of «equal pay for work of equal value».

The Federal Constitution has stated since 1981 that men and women have equal rights. Yet, according to a study produced by the Federal Office for Gender Equality, even today, many years later, there is still a gender pay gap of seven to eight per cent.  Regardless of the same work and same qualifications. Diversity & inclusion – an issue that cannot be ignored by companies and that presents challenges.

Generali Switzerland passionately believes in diversity & inclusion. Wage equality between women and men is a key aspect here. That is why Generali Switzerland asked the University of St. Gallen to analyse the salaries of its employees. The results of the salary analysis by the Competence Centre for Diversity & Inclusion (CCDI) of the University of St. Gallen show that the salaries paid adhere to the principle of “equal pay for work of equal value” enshrined in the Federal Constitution.

The seal of approval for wage equality represents another important milestone in Generali Switzerland’s drive for even greater diversity and equal opportunities.
