Your parcel didn’t arrive - what now?

Nov 28, 2023.

Ordered something online but it hasn’t arrived? Or were the goods damaged when you opened the package? And what if your child orders something without your knowledge? In this podcast we deal with the most important questions relating to deliveries with legal protection expert Sara Hürlimann. You will also find a free sample template for complaining about damaged goods to vendors here: Go to download.

Minute 0:45

In this section we answer the following questions about the delivery of damaged goods:

  • What can I do if the goods I ordered are damaged when they arrive?
  • What happens if the damaged goods are delivered while I am on holiday and I do not notice the damage immediately?
  • Suppose an item of furniture is delivered with a small scratch that does not bother me – should I complain anyway?

Minute 3:50

The second section answers questions about deliveries that arrive too late or not at all:

  • What can I do if the delivery of my parcel is delayed?
  • Who is liable if my parcel does not arrive at all?

MINUTE 6:45

Now we move to deliveries of goods you did not order:

  • What is the situation if I receive a delivery I did not order?
  • One listener wants to know: “What happens if my child goes online shopping without my knowledge?”

ABOUT THE EXPERT

«The vendor may include rules for default in its General Terms and Conditions (GTCs) that deviate from the law and exclude warranty rights. It may for example stipulate that it cannot be held liable for delayed delivery. That is why you should check the GTCs carefully – particularly if you have to pay for your order in advance.»
