Adliswil – Generali’s new song «Fründe» featuring reggae musician, Dodo is an ode to friendship. As part of the music promotion programme «Lion Kids by Generali», Dodo shared his enthusiasm for music and his experience with 180 girls and boys aged six to twelve as a mentor this summer.
The children got to let off steam through music in workshops across Switzerland as well as study the song and the accompanying choreography together with Dodo. «Fründe» is released today, 30 September. The song is now available on all the usual download and streaming platforms, as well as at generali.ch/song.
Dodo wrote the song «Fründe» especially for the music promotion programme «Lion Kids by Generali»: «The project means a lot to me because I can pass on the joy music brings me and see the children’s eyes light up,» Dodo said. He went on to say, «I thought about what’s really important and what stays with you as you grow up. That’s how I arrived at friendship: being there for each other, being strong together, crying or having fun together.»
Dodo took over as musical mentor to the Lion Kids this year, following in the footsteps of Stefanie Heinzmann, Luca Hänni and Bligg. Dodo, who grew up in Côte d’Ivoire, is one of Switzerland’s most successful music producers. He is known to many for his catchy song «Hippie-Bus» and as the host of the TV show «Sing meinen Song – Das Schweizer Tauschkonzert».
The making of the music video for «Fründe» was also all about promoting young talent. A group of children learned the basics of professional filmmaking under the direction of filmkids.ch and helped to design and shoot the music video behind the scenes. The video also deals with the theme of friendship.
All proceeds from «Fründe» go to The Human Safety Net Switzerland foundation, which supports families and children in difficult situations in Switzerland. The children from Lions Kids by Generali will, therefore, help other kids with their work both in the recording booth and behind the camera.
The Human Safety Net is the Generali Group’s global community initiative and is active in 26 countries. In Switzerland, The Human Safety Net Switzerland foundation supports projects that help children aged 0–6 and parents in difficult family situations. The projects empower parents to create a better future for their children despite being in tough circumstances. Since 2019, we have been able to help over 6,800 parents and children.
