FAQ – Legal protection insurance

We offer individual insurance and family insurance. Individual insurance only covers you, the policyholder. If you purchase family insurance, it will provide protection for everyone living in the same household as the policyholder. 

Our legal protection insurance offers comprehensive protection for legal disputes, which can happen at any time, even with the best of intentions.

Legal advice over the phone
Do you simply have a legal question about a specific topic? If so, we will be happy to provide legal advice over the phone.

Examples of legal advice: 

• What is the right way to terminate my employment contract with my employer? 
• My landlord is charging me to repair my skylight. Do I have to pay for this? 

You can book an appointment for a telephone consultation online. 

Legal case
If you are involved in a legal dispute and need legal assistance, a telephone consultation will not suffice. In this instance, please report the legal case to us. We will open a file, handle the matter and provide legal assistance throughout the entire dispute. 

Examples of a legal dispute:  

• My employer won’t pay me my salary despite a formal request to do so. 
• My tenancy agreement has been terminated. I don’t agree with this.

Traffic offences incur procedural costs. For example, if you have received a penalty notice or your licence has been suspended. In this case, we will reimburse you for these costs. Please fill out this form to request a refund.

We will terminate the policy with effect from the day following the date of death. Any premiums that have been paid will be reimbursed. Please include bank account details when sending us the death certificate.

The legal protection insurance only covers persons resident in Switzerland. Please send us a copy of your certificate of departure by e-mail to info.rvg@fortuna.ch or post to:

We will terminate the policy with effect from the departure date. Your legal protection insurance ceases to be valid from that point. Any premiums that have been paid will be reimbursed. Please include bank account details when sending us the certificate of departure.
