That’s what we stand for as an employer. See for yourself what that could mean for you. Are you convinced?

Achieving more together
We ask a lot of our employees. Together we will achieve top results, and we will do everything we can to offer you a safe, healthy and future-oriented working environment.

More innovation together
We want to change the insurance industry together with you. We don’t intend to take baby steps, but great strides forward. With innovative products and solutions that turn the insurance industry on its head and get customers excited about what we do. Like our corporate start-up LINGS. This on-demand insurance for amateur photographers and cyclists provides flexible cover for their equipment – it’s quick and convenient to conclude online.
A central foundation stone for such developments is our House of Insurtech Switzerland, which has 600m2 of floor space. Internal projects and external start-ups meet up here. Together we work on cutting-edge concepts and bring these to market in a timely manner. As a partner of the Fintech Incubator F10, we support international start-ups and collaborate with the University of St. Gallen. So we can be on the pulse of the latest developments.

More depth together
We want to elevate insurance to a new level. So we are leaving old assumptions and antiquated attitudes behind. Because if you only indulge your personal preconceptions and habits, you are destined to live a life on the surface. But we want to change things from the ground up. And to do this we need people who don’t just see what’s apparent at first glance. We need people who are also willing and able to take a step back so they can embrace the bigger picture. Or sometimes take a step forward so we can innovate together. At Generali, every employee has a say, so that we can shape the corporate culture together.

More scope for action together
Our mission is to keep rediscovering ourself as an insurer. We can only do this in an environment that is receptive to change. One that makes it makes it as easy as possible for everyone to contribute their ideas. Hierarchical thinking has no place at Generali. We treat each other as equals, the CEO included. Open and direct communication makes interaction comfortable and uncomplicated. We really act as one. Together we can achieve great things! We support each other, value the contributions of others and tackle challenging situations as one.

More life domain balance together
Only relaxed and healthy employees can achieve exceptional results. Hence, every employee gets 30 days of leave* in each calendar year and the option of applying for up to two months’ unpaid leave.
We help you juggle your work and family life. We offer childcare options close to our offices at subsidised prices. We grant you full continued salary payment during your maternity leave.
* Our field staff receive 25 days of leave per calendar year.

More flexible together
Together we promote flexible and mobile working. We create motivating framework conditions for employees to shape their work independently and creatively. We want our employees to be able to optimally combine their job and other areas of life. Increased flexibility includes a personal laptop. Working from home is a matter of course for us – you can freely choose to do up to 50% of your work outside the office. A change of scenery can help you see something from a completely new angle.
We want the job to fit into your way of life, not the other way around.
That is why we advertise every position with an 80%–100% workload. We are also involved in the Work Smart network. Because it is important to us that we use energy, buildings and transport infrastructure in Switzerland in an even smarter way in order to protect our climate in the long term.
Whether you have a 50%, 80% or 100% contract, your well-being and your health are important to us. Various measures, such as ergonomic workstations, exercise and relaxation courses, massages, vaccinations, an in-house relaxation room in Adliswil and a modern fitness room protect and promote the health of our employees. Our commitment to occupational health management was assessed by Health Promotion Switzerland in 2020 and awarded the “Friendly Workspace” seal.

Together even more for you
The fact is that Monday is not easy for anyone. But we give you plenty of ways to make the most of your free time, for example with our Generali running team or hiking group, with yoga or Pilates or by simply having a lie in occasionally and coming in to work a little later.
Develop your potential together with us
We offer you everything you need to develop further and meet your potential. At Generali, we value every employee and invest in continuous learning and growth. We are convinced that the sustainable development of our employees will secure the future of our company in the long term. Supporting and challenging all employees is very important for us, because together with you we want to achieve great things.
Individual staff development
Employees are the most important capital. To keep pace with growing requirements and technical developments, we place a strong emphasis on the targeted promotion of our staff. Our broad training offering encompasses seminars, for example on improving social skills and personal resilience, as well as workshops, for example on developing methodological skills to assist with employee performance reviews, negotiating skills and management without management responsibility.
Whether your training is on the job or in the classroom, internal or external, physical or virtual, our renowned internal and external trainers will actively support you and offer a varied training and further education programme.
Talent Management
YUT programme
The “Young & Upcoming Talents” (YUT) talent management programme has been devised for our young and upcoming talents. We aim to give more specific support to employees with particularly high potential and high ambitions. Hence, we offer our YUTs an individual programme every year in order to advance their development within the company and to allow them a visibility of career paths up to group level. A broad range of opportunities are open to them, including international mobility and the chance to develop into a strategically relevant function-holder or into a manager.
We LEARN
The “We LEARN” programme is a global initiative designed to train our employees in business, digital and behavioural skills that will be essential for the company in the future. With We LEARN, we teach these skills through a mixture of face-to-face courses, digital learning and videos/digital animations. The specialist knowledge and enthusiasm of our colleagues from all over the world provide crucial added value to this training.
The global LMS (Learning Management System) platform has been operational since April 2020. It presents our e-learning courses in a fun and attractive way, similar to Netflix. Regular, group-wide e-learning courses, which are mandatory for all employees, make us fit for the future.

360-degree feedback
The 270-degree and 360-degree feedback methods are ways of assessing the skills and performance of specialists and managers from different angles, such as from the perspective of employees, line managers, colleagues, team members or customers. The key to the success of these methods is the way in which the results are reported to the feedback recipients and the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. Each employee is provided with an experienced coach for the evaluation interview and for the implementation of measures.
Development and promotion of managers
We would like to support you in your career. We offer these programmes with numerous seminar offers and individual offers for prospective and experienced managers:
Junior Management Programme (JUMP)
With JUMP, conducted in collaboration with our seminar partner Kalaidos Fachhochschule Wirtschaft AG, we provide assistance to new managers in the back office and field service, irrespective of rank. In three coordinated seminar blocks, participants are familiarised with their new role and equipped for the new challenges they will face.
Peer case consulting
Peer case consulting is a methodical form of coaching by a peer group with no hierarchy within a structured timeframe. The case presenter (manager) receives as wide a range of views of his or her issue as possible and various hypotheses. This case consultancy takes place every six to eight weeks in a regular format with an internal moderator.
Managerial Acceleration Programme (MAP) / Future proof leaders
The Future Proof Leaders Programme (FPL) is a local, modular programme designed to empower our employees by improving their management skills. The programme, which is based on the four Generali behaviours, is conducted by managers trained specifically for the task. Its mixes input and activities to support our managers in deciding and executing their strategies. Participants attend three modules spread over one year. During the course, they get to know a number of tools and take part in discussions and tasks related to the topics of simplicity, empathy, innovation and responsibility.
